39th WORLD MONEY FAIR BERLIN

 

On January 29-31, 2010, Lithuanian Mint took part in the 39th World Money Fair in Berlin, the biggest fair in the field of coin production and numismatics with attendance of thousands of visitors. Majority of the world‘s mints as well as suppliers of coin minting equipment and materials came to participate in the Fair this year. Among numerous participants of the Fair there were coin dealers, distributor companies and representatives of major numismatic editions. All in all 300 participants registered for the Fair.

Lithuanian Mint had a stand, where it presented most recently issued collector coins, orders, medals and badges, representatives of the Mint informed the visitors about forthcomming issues of new collector coins, handed out booklets of the Bank of Lithuania and the Mint, fair badges, held meetings with business partners, numismatists, coin dealers and press representatives. The Mint presented 10 centas circulation coins in terms of the special fair programme called „Coin Passport“. The programme is aimed at visitors of the Fair. It helps to gain knowledge of national monetary systems, provides historical facts about coins and mints.

 During the Fair over 200 coin production experts gathered for Technical Forum to discuss the latest achievements of technological development in the fields of coin blank production, coin mintage, packaging and tool production.

 As annouced by the organizer of the Fair this year the event has attracted over 13.000 visitors.
