General information

The Lithuanian Mint was established on 10 December 1990 by Resolution of the Lithuanian Government. It revived the traditions of minting the Lithuanian coins that flourished during the Middle Ages, continued during the pre-war period but were stopped in 1940.

The main activity of the Lithuanian Mint  is striking circulation and collectors (commemorative) coins and the main purpose is to seek a profit, performing universal productive-commercial activity in the range of a production of coins and in the close domains.

Activity

The Lithuanian mint is a modern and contemporary enterprise. Equipped with the newest coining and tool manufacturing facilities, highly skilful employees, quality management system compliant with requirements of the international ISO 9001 : 2008 standard, the Mint produces the highest quality circulation and collectors coins, state decorations (orders and their medals), various medals, badges, metal dies, punches for printing houses and other items. The Lithuanian Mint strikes the Lithuanian circulation and collectors (commemorative) coins at the orders of the Bank of Lithuania, maintains successful cooperation with overseas central and national banks.

Management and Structure

Lithuanian Mint is governed by the board and director.  The board consists of five members. General  meeting of shareholders elects the members of the board for the period of four years according to the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.  The board elects and recalls enterprise‘s director.

Enterprise‘s activity is ensured by Production, Marketing and Commerce, Technic‘s service and repair divisions. There are Tooling production and Coins production subdivisions in the Production division. Security subdivision controls enterprise‘s security and persons movement inside the enterprise.
